Printpop Press has arrived!
It's here. Printpop Press
www.printpoppress.com, or via the ad link on Printpop.com
At Printpop.com, we recognize there may be times when artists and Photographers want one of our large poster prints but don't want the picture or artwork uploaded to our galleries and available for the public to purchase.
This is ideal for someone who is wanting large poster prints of a piece of artwork that they do not want to make available in mass quantities. Or for someone wanting large prints of family pictures, or any photographs that you would like blown up to our large sizes.
That is the reasoning behind Printpop Press. You will not be asked to create an account and your image will only be used to produce the print that you purchase.
All Printpop Press purchases will be handled via PayPal shopping cart; at this time
Thank you for choosing Printpop.com for your Large Poster Print needs.
On a side, note.we've been asked a few times and thought we'd mention it publically: Yes, you can get your print on canvas. and the Standard print is on a premium photo semi-gloss paper (like most posters), that said...we will always do custom orders, just email and ask. There are hundreds of types of paper, for now, anything outside of the standards are handled on a custom order basis, someday soon there will be options to customize your order directly online.
As usual, please feel free to contact anyone here at anytime with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Thanks again...

2008; Ain’t it great!
Here we are 2008, I can't believe it! Printpop is now into its 5th year of existence and it's shaping up to be the best and biggest year yet.
There are some big plans on the horizon and plenty on the plates of the tech and support teams. Here is a sneak peak at some of the things we will be rolling out in 2008:
Printpop Press: This will be an off shoot of Printpop where artists or anyone, can upload and order a print(s) or GiftPop items WITHOUT placing it into a gallery for mass sale.
Redesign: We've spent countless hours of trial and error and we finally arrived at a new web layout design that provides more "real estate" on the website to allow for announcements, more advertising, sections where we can add features like an artist community, a forum, an interactive blog with us here at Printpop, etc etc …oh heck…check out the concept design here:
http://www.printpop.com/devin/mockup/ppop_layout2.jpg
Art Star08: This year will be the inaugural launch of The Printpop.com ArtStar Contest. The artist who sells the highest number of items over the course of 2008 will receive an ALL expenses paid solo art exhibit with entertainment, catering and advertising, as well as national and local press coverage, airfare and hotel accommodations for two. The Contest will be officially announced shortly after the New Year; watch your inbox for a link to the announcement as well as the rules.
Another Dimension: Printpop has a history of always seeking out artists from across the globe…this year will see Printpop extend its reach into the Metaverse. In 2008, Printpop.com will be establishing a presence in Second Life. For those of you who aren't familiar with Second Life (or as it's commonly called "SL"), it is a virtual community full of millions of people who interact with one another (through their Real Life counterparts). Products can be sold virtually in Real Life, for virtual money, and then converted into real U.S Dollars. Printpop.com is proud to be a pioneer of this new global platform. Along with this Printpop is planning a "Virtual Art Festival" in "SL", I will keep you posted as things develop.
Artist Ads: As you all know Printpop has Advertising space on the bottom of every page on the site. In the past I have been asked if Artists Could advertise there and my position has always been that that space is reserved fro Businesses. It has occurred to me that our reason for existence is to help the artists spread the word and get people buying their artwork. With that in mind I have made the decision to open those ads up to our artists. If you feel that you want to be more proactive, or generate more traffic to your portfolio, your MySpace or your website, please let us know, and we will provide you with the terms and rates for Premium advertising, not all of you will need or want this extra exposure but for those that do, it is now available. Email ads@printpop.com
A special thanks goes out this year to Bob White and "Bad Art for Bad People". In June and October of 2007, Printpop was fortunate enough to co-sponsor two art events with Bad Art for Bad People in Denver, Co. And when I say events, no other art show comes close to the first rate spectacle put on by Bob White and Bad Art. I have to say that Bob's professionalism and graciousness are beyond reproach and that if ANY of you ever want to put on an art event, Bad Art for Bad People is the way to go. I sincerely hope that Printpop is able to work with him again to bring this level of event to more cities across the nation.
Printpop continues to grow. In 2007, Printpop welcomed 500 new artists offering over 3500 pieces of artwork. We averaged about 200,000 hits per month. The artists on Printpop.com span the globe from Russia to India, Bulgaria, Germany, Australia, France, and South Africa to England. We have artists involved from Hawaii to Maine, and 40 other states in between. Printpop also welcomes artists this year from Egypt, 7 Canadian providences, as well as China! Zhenlian is our first artist from China, and she has already built a very impressive portfolio on Printpop, please visit her artwork.
Outside of the U.S. we are welcoming site visitors from the U.K., Canada, Austraila, Finland, Italy, Germany, France, Netherlands, Mexico, Belgium, India, Ireland, Thailand, Denmark, Belarus, New Zealand, Brazil, Japan, S. Africa, Spain, Chile, Greece, Seychelles, Turkey, and Sweden. You are also now able to visit Printpop.co.uk (England), Printpop.be(Belgium), Printpop.eu(European Union), Printpop.hk.cn(Hong Kong), Printpop.cn(China), Printpop.es(Spain), Printpop.it(Italy), Printpop.ru(Russia)
Ladd and the support crew have stayed busy this year with the launch of a new and improved shopping cart, better integration into the main site, and the addition of new Giftpop items. Along with improved security, the tech team has created easier ways to direct link your profile or artwork to another website. We also launched our Google Products collaboration to make the artists and artwork easier to find, and hopefully more accessible.
Keep up the good work on helping us spread the word about Printpop. Word-of-mouth is our biggest and fastest way of bringing people to the site and to your work. The most successful Printpop artists are those who are proactive. Don't forget that if you have an art show or just want to promote your Printpop portfolio, tell us and we'll send you some flyers, stickers, gallery cards, or artwork for banners to put on your websites.
I'd like to close by wishing that the New Year will bring Peace and Happiness for all of you and your loved ones. Don't' forget fee free to contact any of us at any time with any suggestions, comments, questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Devin Walker
CEO Printpop.com
P.S . For those of you who've signed up but haven't uploaded anything yet, please let us know if we can help you, the process is very easy and once you upload your first piece, it'll become second nature.
P.S.S. Now is a good time to make sure that all of your information on Printpop is updated; we've had a few checks come back to us because the artist had moved and had not updated their mailing address. Don't forget to add your Bio and descriptions for your pieces.
P.S.P.S. If you're not on Printpop yet...what are you waiting for???? Show the world your art!!!
Printpop Update - April 2007
It's been 2 years in the making! But now its here; The newest, the latest and the greatest version of Printpop.com!
Over the past 2 years Printpop has come a long, long way. Weve grown by leaps and bounds and in doing so, shook hands with, talked to, emailed, become Myspace friends, text messaged, IMd, faxed, blogged, pretty much everything except exchanged smoke signals with an incredible amount of new artists.
These artists have asked questions, made suggestions, raised concerns, and on occasion told me where to go. I have to say Thank you for ALL of the input, without it we would not be able to deliver this latest version of our Website.
So here is a quick summary of SOME of the features that are new and/or improved.
*New & Improved Shopping Cart.
*New Giftpop Items: YOU"VE gotta see these! I am most fond of the messenger bags with the interchangeable flaps.
*New Help Menu: This is now separated into General questions and a section just for the Artists.
*Sold & Hits information for each piece: Ive wanted this for a long time, and so have many of you. When you are in MYPOP, and your Portfolio you will be able to view under each piece how often someone has viewed that piece (Looked at the larger thumb) and how many times it has sold. You will still continue to receive your email confirmations when a piece sells.
*New Galleries; "Fantasy, Digital, Nature, Holiday, Raw": Raw is a combination of the old "Nudes" Gallery, as well as a place for other art that may be "risqué", or contain subject matter not suitable for the eyes of someone under the age of 18.
*Easier URLs for artist names, (ie. printpop.com/devinwalker): Provide links directly to your portfolio.
*Easier URLs for artwork,( ie. printpop.com/101): Easier links right to each individual art piece.
*Cleaned up "rough" edges to the Printpop.com interface/style.
*New Help Section Exclusively for Artists.
*Easier navigation form gallery to gallery, "Next and Previous" buttons: Go back and forth all day long.
*E-mail required to sign into account. You can no longer use username to sign in: *just another security measure.
*Countless other "behind the scenes" improvements. All of these "backend" changes will make the site more secure, run easier, and smoother, and make it easier to make improvements in the future. New improvements should be easier to implement and they will come much faster.
So take some time to become familiar with and enjoy the new features. And as always feel free to contact anyone here at Printpop at ANYTIME with any questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, and ideas. Also now is the perfect time to check your profile and make sure that your information is current and that you have entered a good BIO about yourself. Also if you sign into MYPOP and have artwork that you think should go into one of the new categories be sure to go to your PORTFOLIO and click on piece and choose the new galleries that you want it to show up in.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me in thanking Ladd our Chief Technology Officer for his TIRELESS work over the past two years, fire off some Fan mail and let him know what you think of what he's done; cto(at)printpop.com.Lastly I want to say on behalf of everyone here at Printpop, our thoughts and prayers go out to anyone affected in anyway by the tragedy at Virginia Tech. I hope this email finds you all safe and well.
2006 is behind us...look ahead to 2007
Here comes 2007! I hope you all have had a great 2006, and that 2007 will prove to be an even better year.
I would like to start by sending out a personal thank you. Thanks for all of the kind words and letters during this trying year for me. It meant the world to me and really helped me get back on track and through some rough times (thanks a TON Michelle! You truly are my friend).
It's been a great year at Printpop. I want to thank Talease Cleveland, Chrissy Martinez, Emily Eakes, and Dave Danchuck for all of their hard work promoting Printpop. Way to go guys, please let us know if you need any promo materials from us. This goes for all of the artists as well. If you have an art show or just want to promote your Printpop portfolio, tell us and we'll send you some flyers, stickers, or gallery cards, or help with other ideas (we want to help you and your shows succeed).
Speaking of art shows…A BIG CONGRATS to Jennifer Finch. In case you haven't seen the pictures, click on the red link, "Jennifer Precious Finch Exclusive!" at the top of our main page. Ladd, our COO, and I made the trip out to L.A. for Jennifer's first public showing of her photographs; we had a blast and the show was a HUGE success. Jennifer, thank you for the hospitality as well as the chance to provide the world with prints of your art.
Please take the time to visit Jennifer's site at http://jenniferfinchphoto.com/.
The next stop for Printpop was Chicago for Chrissy Martinez's first gallery show. Despite the "cut to the bone" cold weather and the hostage situation that took place during dinner downtown, the show and trip were both big successes. Way to go Chrissy! If you are in Chicago, be sure to stop by and check out her work. It's still on display at the High Risk Gallery, 113 West Belmont Ave.
In 2006, Printpop welcomed 200 new artists. This year we averaged about 150,000 hits per month, or about 1100 visitors monthly. The three most popular pieces were Dave Danchuk's "Marley Live," Steven Bossler's "Untitled," and Patricia Michele Beers "Allison Colored."
Printpop is growing, we have established our claims on Myspace, Blogspot, 723.com, Livejournal, Facebook, and Linkedin.
Recognizing that we are growing has caused us to do some re-evaluating and we took a long look at our goals and how to achieve them. To help all of you and to help Printpop "grow," we have brought on a new partner, Kathryn Vagneur. Kathryn is based in London and brings with her a lifetime of marketing, logistical, and financial experience. In 2007, I am confident that Kathryn will prove to be a valuable part of Printpop.
Also join me in welcoming Stephanie Kot, who our newest team member and my "go-to" person. Thanks a million Steph!
Outside of the U.S. we are welcoming visitors from the U.K., Canada, Austraila, Finland, Italy, Germany, France, Netherlands, Mexico, Belgium, India, Ireland, Thailand, Denmark, Belarus, New Zealand, Brazil, Japan, S. Africa, Spain, Chile, Greece, Seychelles, Turkey, and Sweden. You are also now able to visit Printpop.co.uk (England), Printpop.be(Belgium), Printpop.eu(European Union), Printpop.hk.cn(Hong Kong), Printpop.cn(China), Printpop.es(Spain), Printpop.it(Italy), Printpop.ru(Russia)
The artists on Printpop.com span the globe from Russia to India, Bulgaria, Germany, Australia, France, and South Africa to England. We have artists involved from Hawaii to Maine, and 38 states in between.
Speaking of Hawaii, one of the artists who has been with Printpop the longest is Kathy Ostman-Magnusen, who lives on the big island, and has just launched a new website, kathysart.com, so please be sure to check it out as well as her Printpop portfolio. Aloha and Mahalo Kathy!
I'd also like to thank our current showcase artists, Jennifer Finch from the band the Shocker (formerly with L7), Gina Volpe from the band Bantamn (Ex-Lunachicks), and Michelle Shocked, who is displaying some incredible photographs of Ghana.
The next version of Printpop is due out shortly after the New Year. Some of the cool things that Ladd tells me to expect are a revamped shopping cart, cell phone wallpaper, new galleries, and much much more. There are currently many ideas on the drawing board, but if you have any suggestions or new ideas, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Keep up the good work on helping us spread the word about Printpop. Word-of-mouth is our biggest and fastest way of bringing people to the site and to your work. The most successful Printpop artists are those who are proactive. If you need flyers or artwork for banners to put on your websites Myspace, Livejournal, Blogspot etc., please let us know and we will get what you need to you as soon as possible.
I'd like to close by wishing that the New Year will bring Peace and Happiness for all of you and your loved ones.
Take care of yourselves this year,
Devin Walker
